Noah Lubin was born in Chicago into an artistic family. Interested in art and music, he studied guitar and composition relatively later in life. He lives as a painter and continues guitar work with much interest in composition. Song for Zoe was dedicated to his twin sister. It returns to the mood of the barcarolle, captured particularly well in the recurring motive of a rising scale fading each time to near silence.
I had the honor to play this piece for my masters recital in 2012, and would like to share my interpretation of his piece for everyone.
