From age twelve, Billy knew he wanted to play guitar after watching The Smashing Pumpkins performing “1979.” Shortly after receiving his first electric guitar, Billy performed for friends and family, not knowing that playing and creating music would become a lifelong passion.
At age fifteen, he won his first competition playing an original composition. At age sixteen, he started playing the bar scene of rock, country, and bluegrass featuring his own compositions. At The University of North Carolina at Charlotte, he studied classical guitar, composition and jazz. He continued his studies at The Boston Conservatory, where he received his Masters of Music in Guitar Performance. He has taken master classes with Adam Holzman, Alvaro Pierre and Jason Veaux.
Billy has been featured in magazines, newspapers and on the radio, both locally and internationally. Previous performances have included events for members of the United Nations, Museum of Freedom, Musical Theatre Guild, Charlotte Choral Society, and the Boston Classical Guitar Society. Billy keeps a full studio and regularly performs in the NYC community.
